The STRANGER & STANGER company has specialized since 1994 in the design of alcohol bottles. The relationship with the photo? none except that we owe him the packaging of the limited edition of the rum Don PAPA 10 yearss. The result is just magnificent besides the list of awards won by STRANGER & STRANGER is crazy. Don Papa 10 years is a rum from the Philippines produced on the island of Negros. This version produced in very small quantities is exclusively reserved for the French market!
The photos of the packaging are superb and I love this rum… in fact there are plenty of reasons to talk about it.

The history of Don Papa rum
The story of Don Papa Don Papa was born in the Philippines in 2012. Since then, this molasses rum created by Stephen Carroll has established itself as a real " bestseller". Don Papa invites you to discover a new land, that of the island of Negros, commonly called "Sugarlandia". Don Papa owes its success to its very sweet aromatic profile, dominated by citrus notes, and its almost syrupy texture. A style which gives it a real seduction, especially among new lovers of sugar cane cognac.
Discover the rums of the Don Papa brand from the Philippines
When he fell in love with the Philippines, Stephen Carroll was particularly amazed at the wealth of his country. Thus, the former marketing director of Rémy Martin cognac has only one idea: to discover this land blessed by the gods. Due to its very fertile volcanic soil, the island of Negros is particularly suitable for the cultivation of sugar cane.
Yves-Léopold Germain, a Norman businessman who planted the first feet of the archipelago in 1840, also understood this. On this island, nicknamed "Sugarlandia", the cane handles are heavier than elsewhere and their sugar content is higher. Don Papa is column-distilled from this local molasses, known for its high sugar concentration. It matures in American oak barrels.

The secret of making Don Papa 10 years rum
The incredible delicacy of don papa 10 years rum can also be explained by a homemade secret. In fact, three grams of sugar per liter is added to rum before it is put into barrels to ripen for a long time. The name Don Papa is a tribute to Dionisio Magbuelas, also known as Papa Isio, a true revolutionary who shaped the history of the Philippines in the 19th century.
A foreman in a sugar cane plantation, but also shamans and healers, became the leader of the national revolt which led the country to its independence in 1896. Today, his portrait adorns the bottles of Don Papa. A great way to discover part of the history of the Philippines, but also to maintain the rebellious spirit of the brand.
